Kristen Lauth Shaeffer ’03 says that she left Allegheny College confident after graduating as a first-generation student, knowing she wasn’t trained in one thing. Little did she know that her path in life would connect her with a notable filmmaker and that she would rise to become the head of an academic department at Chatham University.

Isabella James ’24 is dedicated to having patients seen and heard on their journey towards healing. After studying neuroscience with minors in theatre and biology, James took a gap year to prepare for applying to medical school and accepted a position as a medical assistant at a dermatology practice.
