Other Opportunities for Students
When used on platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed, these digital, stackable credentials offer additional impact to our students’ Allegheny experience. Each badge is designed by grouping courses across our curriculum into into an entity that best show employers the skill sets achieved. Because microcredentials make skills and competencies more visible to prospective employers, they have the power to elevate and transform a student’s future trajectory.
Manufacturing Advanced Placement Program (MAPP)
This program creates a pathway from Allegheny to Acutec Precision Aerospace and into the Master of Manufacturing Management (MMM) program at Penn State Behrend. This opportunity will accelerate your career plans, starting with quantitative coursework at Allegheny and leading to inspiring and fulfilling careers in manufacturing, engineering, or management.
Micro-Grants
ALIC offers grants of up to $3000 for students to develop their ideas for products, services, non-profits, and projects related to their post-graduation ambitions. Students awarded a microgrant via ALIC are partnered with a faculty mentor and a community mentor who facilitate bringing projects to life. Students can apply as an individual or as part of a team, and funds are used in the development of the idea.
ALIC @ Bessemer Location
ALIC @ Bessemer brings the educational mission of Allegheny College directly to the community and industry partners to equip our regional workforce to adapt to emerging technological development and advances in business operations. The space is being designed to mimic the real-world environment, providing off-site training and onboarding opportunities so industry partners can avoid production line shut-downs for this purpose.
