Applying as a Non-Degree Student

The non-degree student category applies to students who wish to take courses on a part-time basis without enrolling as a degree-seeking student, which entails:

  • Maximum of two courses per semester
  • Space in courses may be limited; if there is over-enrollment in a course, a non-degree student must yield their spot in the course to a degree-seeking student
  • Fees for non-degree students are $2,328/credit. The typical Allegheny class is 4 credits.

If you wish to take a class on a non-degree basis:

  • Contact the Office of Admissions to discuss options and to receive the link for the Non-Degree Student Application
  • The Office of the Registrar will make decisions on course enrollment upon receipt of an application

Persons desiring to pursue studies at the College are expected to be prepared to enter the freshman class as candidates for a degree.
