In an article published by Academic Leader, President Ron Cole focuses on how academic leaders and institutions can drive regional economic development by actively engaging with local communities, businesses, and government stakeholders. It highlights initiatives that Allegheny College has developed in support of these efforts, including four entities driving development and support across the region:
- Meadville Community Revitalization Corporation
- Allegheny’s Community Impact Hub
- Allegheny Lab for Innovation and Creativity (ALIC)
- Allegheny’s Watershed Conservation Research Center
In addition to the effects on the region, Allegheny students gain high-impact practices through collaborative projects, research, community-based learning, internships, and more.
