Allegheny College hosted All In for Meadville, a campus-wide food drive supporting residents across Meadville and Crawford County in Diamond Park. Led by the College’s Office of Student and Community Development, the event distributed 200 Thanksgiving meal boxes directly to community members and an additional 50 meals to five local partner organizations.

The Office of Student and Community Development works year-round to support community members throughout the region, and this new initiative reflects the College’s deep commitment to collaboration and service.

In preparation for the event, more than two dozen Allegheny students and employees gathered on Monday, November 17, to assemble the Thanksgiving meal boxes in Schultz Banquet Hall. Each box includes a turkey and an assortment of traditional holiday foods such as macaroni and cheese, gravy, potatoes, apple pie filling, canned vegetables, stuffing, milk, and butter.

Allegheny College is happy to host this community food drive to support our local residents,” said Heather Moore Roberson, Dean of Student and Community Development. “We are proud to be part of Meadville.

The College will also distribute 50 meal boxes to five local organizations supporting families and individuals throughout the region: The Green Shoppe, Family Children and Community Association, Bethany Christian Services, United Faith Fellowship, and Women’s Services.

With plans to make the All In for Meadville food drive an annual tradition each fall, Allegheny College aims to build on its mission of community connection, mutual support, and meaningful engagement.

The Office of Student and Community Development organized a food drive that was held downtown, in Diamond Park. Earlier in the week, employees and students packed boxes for the drive.
