Janyl Jumadinova, associate professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science, discusses higher education’s role in confronting ethical problems and developing responsible students with the Tech Policy Press.
Jumadinova says “computing is integral to our lives,” and those who obtain it wield incredible power. When this power is misused, privacy, security, and bias can influence society.
She urges institutions to use the the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights, as a framework to guide their instruction and to follow four principles she elaborates on in the following article.
