ALERTAllegheny is the Allegheny College emergency notification system. It delivers time-sensitive emergency notifications via email, text messaging, website alerts, social media (Facebook and X), and outdoor warning sirens to members of the Allegheny community.
The College automatically registers all allegheny.edu email addresses into the ALERTAllegheny (e2campus) system. Students, staff, faculty, and parents may opt in to the alert system when entering cell phone and email information.
Reporting an Incident
If you are the target of, witness to, or hear about any form of incident or bias happening to an Allegheny student, report the incident immediately. These reports can be anonymous and assist the College in tracking, investigating, or responding to incidents.

Media Calls
During an emergency situation, it is very important that reporters be directed to Media Relations in the Office of College Relations. Media Relations speaks on behalf of the College and has the most accurate and up-to-date information available about an incident. In addition, Media Relations works closely with Public Safety and Emergency Responders to coordinate what information can or should be released to the general public.
If you receive any calls from media representatives, direct all calls to Media Relations at 814-332-4793 or news@alleghney.edu. To assist Media Relations in responding as quickly as possible, you may also obtain the following information and give it to Media Relations:
- Reporter’s name and phone number
- Media organization they represent
- Type of information they are seeking
- Reporter’s deadline
