Frequently Asked Questions for Transfer Students

What makes a transcript official?

An official transcript must be sent directly from your institution to Allegheny. It should be ordered through your high school or college(s) and sent to admissions@allegheny.edu.

Note: We can accept unofficial transcripts for initial review, but official versions are required to enroll. If your application is accepted with unofficial documents your admission will be considered conditional until officials are in.

How do I order transcripts?

Most schools allow you to request transcripts through their websites. Simply search “transcript request” on your school’s site and follow the instructions. This applies to both high school and college transcripts.

What is a final high school transcript?

A final high school transcript must include your graduation date and must be sent directly from your high school to admissions@allegheny.edu to be considered official. Use the same “transcript request” search method to request it.

What is a College Official’s Report (COR) and how do I request it?

A COR confirms that you’re in good academic and disciplinary standing at your current institution. While we can review your application without it, it is required before you can enroll.

You can submit the COR to your current school’s Dean of Students office to be completed in one of three ways:

  1. Request it through the application portal by entering the appropriate personnel’s email address to get completed.
  2. Download and email it directly after filling out the student authorization section.
  3. Print and take it in person to the appropriate office.

Do I need to submit SAT or ACT scores?

No, Allegheny is a test optional school.
