There are many local transportation options for Allegheny College students, including buses, bike share, and shuttles.
Bike Share Programs
Allegheny Bike Share – Free with student ID
Use your student ID to check out a free bike, lock, and helmet from the library through the student-run Bike Share program. It will be yours for two-weeks! Repair your personal bike at the bike maintenance station at the library or participate in open Bike Shop hours to learn maintenance skills from experienced bike mechanics. The Bike Share also hosts community bike rides, bike-blended smoothie events, and offers a fleet of expedition bikes in collaboration with the Outing Club.
Meadville Bike Share – $2.50/hour
CATA provides bike share services for $2.50/hour. Payment must be made through the Koloni app available for iPhone and Android. Bikes can be picked up and returned at Pelletier Library as well as other locations in town. Please view the CATA website for full details.
Local Transit
CATA Busing – Free with student ID
Allegheny College students are able to ride CATA busing for free with their student ID. The RED A route with connection to Green A will provide students with transportation from campus to Walmart and Movies at Meadville. Please view the CATA website for full routes and schedules.
Gator Express Service – Free with student ID
The Gator Express is a student-driven shuttle service that can provide transportation to appointments, pharmacies, and storage facilities within 25 miles of the college campus. Transportation requests need to be submitted at least 24 hours in advance at this form. While all attempts to accommodate requests will be made, services are not guaranteed. Please check your email for ride confirmation.

For more than 30 years, Hubbard Bus Service has provided transportation for Allegheny College student organizations and other local and regional Allegheny College transportation needs. Airport Shuttles / Long-Distance Transit
Greyhound – Costs begin at $18
Meadville has a Greyhound bus station located at the Downtown Mall (approximately 1 mile south) of Allegheny College. Travel to Pittsburgh and beyond starts at only $18. Tickets must be pre-purchased online on the Greyhound website.
Hubbard Bus Service

Shuttles
Transportation is offered to/from the Pittsburgh airport for all breaks. The Megabus pickup/drop-off is located at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. For other transportation needs, please refer to the Alternative Transportation Options listed below. The listed times are Eastern Standard Time.
Officially Licensed Shuttle Provider: Pittsburgh Shuttles are provided by Campbell Bus Lines. If seats are available after the college’s online registration has closed, reservations can be made directly with Campbell Bus Lines by calling (724) 794-2440. Walk on reservations at the airport are not permitted. The airport pick-up location for Pittsburgh shuttles is at the baggage claim department near the Hertz Rental Car counter. The driver will have an Allegheny College sign.

College-Related Business
Motor Pool Vehicles – Free with training and department approval
The use of College vehicles from the Motor Pool is permitted for authorized and/or official college business. Department approval is required for department activities and conference attendance. Student organizations may use Motor Pool vehicles for organization activities and conference attendance via coordination through the organization’s advisor and/or president. Drivers of the Motor Pool vans are required to obtain a Gator License.
