Community Engagement

As an Allegheny student, you will have the opportunity to serve at over 30 local agencies around the Meadville community. Through service, you will have the chance to demonstrate your civic commitment to issues such as poverty, homelessness, literacy, environmental protection, and domestic violence.

Your service may include spending time with the elderly, low-income children and families, at-risk youth, wounded/abandoned animals, people with developmental issues, and survivors of sexual assault. You can also participate in special service events such as Make a Difference Day, Senior Citizen Recognition Day, and Alternative Spring Break.

Service Organizations

Many Allegheny clubs and organizations cater to community service and regularly engage in volunteer work around campus and in the community. Many other campus organizations engage in service work regularly, including Greek Life, residence halls, religious groups, special interest clubs, honorary societies, and athletic teams.
