First Year Student Checklist
Below is a checklist of items new students will need to complete. You can find and keep track of your own checklist by logging into your new student portal.
Deposited students can access the portal with their Allegheny credentials starting in early March. To access your portal, make sure you’re logged out of any other email/Gmail accounts and logged into your Allegheny email account.
Things to complete before your New Gator Orientation
- Complete your 2-step Verification
- Confirm your Profile Information
- Complete your FAFSA; Free Application for Federal Student Aid (003230)
- Register for a New Gator Orientation (Virtual Summer Program)
- Complete your Housing and Meal Plan Selection
- Submit your immunization records
- Complete your Student Agreement
- Fill out your Emergency Contact Information
- Health Insurance Agreement
- Upload Health Insurance Card
- Complete your FERPA release form
- Upload your student ID photo
- Fill out the Photo / Media Release
- Fill out the Confidentiality & Data Security Agreement
- Complete your Title IV Authorization form
- Arrange any necessary accommodations with Student Accessibility Services if needed
Prepare for your Course Registration
- Fill out your Academic Planning and Interest Form
- Have a Call or Virtual Meeting with your Exploratory Advisor
- Take your Math Assessment
- Take your Language Assessment (in all languages with which you have experience)
Before you arrive at Allegheny in the Fall
- Book a shuttle if needed.
- Complete your parking permit request (if you plan to have a car on campus – see example screenshots)
- Order your textbooks
- Sign up for Alert Allegheny: Emergency Alert System
