Caps & Gowns

Caps & Gowns will be available for purchase in the Merriman Campus Store for $50 beginning May 3rd. If you are not currently on campus but will be participating in Commencement, you can pick up and pay for your cap and gown at the Merriman Campus Store in the Campus Center, beginning at 8:00 am Saturday, May 11th.

Tickets

Students walking in Commencement will receive five (5) tickets.  Students will be notified of when and where they may pick up their tickets.  Students must complete the First Destination Survey before picking up their tickets.  Family members without tickets are invited to watch the livestream or closed circuit viewing in Shafer Auditorium.

In the event of inclement weather, Commencement will be held in the Wise Center at 2 p.m. Wise Center doors will open at noon. Additional seating will be available in Shafer Auditorium, which provides comfortable seating and big-screen viewing of the ceremony.

Location will be announced the morning of May 11th and posted to My Allegheny and the Commencement website.

Rehearsal

Commencement Rehearsal will be in Mullen Arena at the Wise Center on Thursday, May 9th at 12:30pm.  All graduates participating in the Commencement ceremony MUST attend.  You will not need to bring your cap, gown, tassel, cords or stoles to the rehearsal.

Commencement Line up

On the day of Commencement, all participating graduates are to be at the Mullen Arena by 1:15pm.  The procession will begin immediately after, so be sure to bring your cap, gown, tassel, and any cords or stoles. Please leave any belongings that you do not want to hold during the ceremony with a non-participating friend or family member, before you arrive for line up, as you will not be able to store anything at the Wise Center during the ceremony.

We encourage you to wear sensible shoes as you will be walking on bricks, stairs and possibly soft ground.

Photographs

You will fill out a form for the photographer at rehearsal so that proofs can be emailed to you.
