FAFSA Deadlines

The deadlines at right are very important — you must file by the priority deadline to be considered for maximum aid opportunities. Allegheny will not replace lost state grant funds due to late filing. Some state grant programs may require supplemental applications.

Billing and Payment Access

Due to federal regulations, Allegheny College sends all email notifications, online statements, and credit refunds to the student and in the student’s name. Check your Allegheny student email often for these important notifications.

How to Grant Your Parent or Guardian Access to Billing Information

You can also grant access to the Self Service portal or Nelnet Campus Commerce portal to anyone who helps manage your finances, such as a parent or guardian.

Fall Semester Deadlines

  • Insurance Agreement (required annually)
  • Student Agreement (required every semester)
  • Vehicle Registration (optional)
  • Select your meal plan through the Housing Director
July Student, Transfer Student Share access with anyone who helps you manage your billing statement, such as a parent or guardian.

  1. Nelnet Campus Commerce: Set up access via the Self Service portal. See the instructions for sharing access to Nelnet.
  2. Self Service Proxy Instructions: Set up a proxy to view statements, account details, and tax documents.
July Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Financial Services generates fall billing statements. You will receive an email when charges are ready to view. Log into the Self Service portal and view your student billing account and statement.

If you assigned access to a proxy (such as a parent or guardian), they can also set up payment plans or make online payments.

July Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Complete all requirements for any pending financial aid on your billing statement.
July Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Set up a 5 payment option payment plan. For additional payment plan options, see payment plan information.
July 31 Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Fall semester balance due. Review how to pay your bill.
August (Last Monday) Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Final day to purchase optional tuition insurance.
August 31 Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Final day to decline Student Health Insurance through United Health Care and have the premium fee removed from your account. The student must decline through the Agreements link in the Self Service portal.
September (2nd Week) Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Late payment fee of $100 applied to all accounts with a past due balance. See past due account policy.
September (3rd Week) Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent We apply a registration hold to all past due student accounts with a balance over $1,000.

We apply a transcript hold to all past due student accounts. Only students with a zero balance will be permitted to receive a transcript. See past due account policy.

October 1 Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Pending financial aid is removed from the student billing statements. If you have not followed up on aid, the aid amount will be added to the student account balance and is due immediately. See past due account policy.
November Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Spring class registration begins. Only students with a balance of $1,000 or less will be permitted to register for spring classes.
December Student, Transfer Student, Proxy/Parent Late payment fee of $150 applied to all accounts with a past due balance. See past due account policy.
