The Bruce R. Thompson Center for Business and Economics (CBE) at Allegheny College equips the next generation of business innovators and entrepreneurs for success in a global economy. Programming and professional development programs including the CBE Fellows and year-round experiential learning opportunities. The CBE also features a Bloomberg Lab, providing hands-on experience with industry-standard financial tools.

Mentorship, Networking, Discovery
- Board of Visitors Annual Event – The Board of Visitors is an advisory body of alumni for the Center of Business and Economics that journeys back to campus each year to help students achieve their career goals.
- Executive In Residence Program – This event is designed to connect Allegheny students and faculty with prominent business executives who spend several days on campus speaking about their life experiences, paths to success and lessons learned
- Distinguished Lecture/Executive Roundtable – Each year the Department hosts an annual event to address contemporary issues of regional, national and global importance.

Student Organizations
- Omicron Delta Epsilon Student Honor Society – Students who qualify academically are invited to join one of the world’s largest academic honor societies recognizing scholastic attainment, and honors outstanding achievements in the field of economics.
- Women in Business and Economics (WIBE) – Students in the Women in Business and Economics Club support, mentor, and promote women in the fields of Business and Economics, encouraging all who join to stay engaged in, and excited about their academic and professional success.

Money, Finance, Entrepreneurship
- Allegheny College Student Managed Investment Fund – The fund provides students with experience investing in the stock market under the guidance of faculty and a professional advisory board.
- Zingale Big Idea Competition – This competition focuses on seed-level new business ideas. The Annual Competition awards cash prizes and trophies for student winners. This contest emulates the experiences seen on the popular CNBC broadcast, Shark Tank, but with a heart. Unlike Shark Tank, the Zingale Big Idea distinguished panel of judges do more than evaluate business models – they offer constructive feedback, coaching and encouragement.
