I joined the Bonner Program because I have directly experienced the positive impacts of dedicated service and I want to pay that forward. Coming from an immigrant family and being one myself I didn’t have as many opportunities as most. It was through the help of programs like Bonner and some amazing volunteers that I was able to make it to where I am today. I want to create the same positive impacts to my college community that I received back home.
Bonner has given me a community. Some of the bestest friends I have on campus are fellow Bonners. Having a community that I know I can rely on to help me succeed has made my experience so much more fun and easier.
Your college experience is what you make of it and joining the Bonner program can help you make that experience a lot more well rounded. Through Bonner, you can learn many skills outside of just academics. You learn leadership, communication, teamwork, collaboration, and time management. Bonner is a great way for you to gain the skills necessary to give back to your community while also learning how to become a better version of yourself.
