Allegheny College is accredited and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) www.msche.org. Allegheny College’s accreditation status is reaffirmed as of June 27, 2024. MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Chemistry Program Accreditation

Allegheny College’s Chemistry program is regularly reviewed and accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS). The ACS stated in its most recent Final Decision Executive Summary:

Allegheny College’s 2021 Periodic Report was reviewed by members of the ACS Committee for Professional Training during their January 2022 Executive Session. Upon evaluation of the report, reviewers agree that the chemistry program at Allegheny College meets all the current ACS Guidelines.
