I joined the Bonner program to be with a community of like minded students. Giving a part of yourself to the people is very rewarding because you're giving people hope and inspiring them. I enjoy how it gives students the opportunity to step into a leadership role. These experiences allow students to develop a large array of skills from organizing, to communication. To trust themselves even through failure that they have it within themselves to get back up and succeed.
Throughout my experience Bonner has taught me that bringing people together requires love. A type of love that takes understanding of the issues that plagues it and being able to listen and sympathize with community members. Bonner has also given me confidence and inspiration from my senior peers. The success they have with their projects shows me I can carve a path of my own.
Prospective students should join Bonner for a lot of reasons. Join a community of like minded students wanting to make an impact here at Allegheny. Bonner also exposes students to lots of diverse opportunities around Meadville allowing students to experience with their interests or hone in on a career to increase their knowledge. Bonner is all about planting yourself to grow along and inspire others to see and share
the sunlight.
