Scholarship Opportunities
Lean in to your achievements, background, and areas of interest when applying for scholarships. Allegheny offers significant merit based scholarships that can make a big difference toward the cost of your college education.
Allegheny College Scholarships
These opportunities are automatically considered when students apply to Allegheny and meet the award criteria.
U.S. students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to Allegheny College (code 003230) are guaranteed at least $1,000 as part of the aid funding provided by Allegheny. The funding is renewable as long as students submit the FAFSA annually by May 1.
Allegheny College Trustee Scholarship
An Allegheny Trustee Scholarship is awarded to you if you balance academic excellence with other distinctive activities during high school.
Scholarship amounts: Up to $42,000 per year (up to $168,000 total over 4 years).
Renewal: Your Trustee Scholarship renews automatically for up to 4 years of full-time enrollment at Allegheny or in an Allegheny-sponsored off-campus study program. Because Allegheny encourages you to challenge yourself in the classroom and explore the entire curriculum, no minimum GPA is required to renew the scholarship.
Eligibility and selection: The Trustee Scholarships recognize your academic excellence along with your leadership, co-curricular involvement, community engagement, and other experiences and talents. Approximately half of applicants receive a Trustee Scholarship, with only a small number receiving the top scholarship each year. Both first-year and transfer students are eligible to receive a Trustee Scholarship.
To apply: Consideration for the Trustee Scholarship is automatic when you apply for admission under Early Decision (by November 1), Early Action (by December 1 and February 1), or Regular Decision (by February 15) methods. You will be notified via mail regarding your eligibility and the amount of your award. To qualify for this scholarship, you must be registered as a full-time, degree-seeking student.

We would love to connect with them and share more about our empowering interdisciplinary approach to education through our major-minor combinations. Since 1998, Allegheny College has been part of 76 colleges and universities in the Bonner Network that offer the Bonner Program. Allegheny, however, is 1 of 3 schools that offer the hybrid Bonner Leader and Bonner Scholar program.
Students are matched with one of our over 21 community partners in the Crawford County area, where they utilize their work study or campus employment funds to serve, whether it’s through direct service or capacity building. Our students also receive professional development and leadership training, as well as participate in important cornerstone activities that help them understand the contexts of the communities that they serve.
Each year, a class of 16 students, 8 Bonner Leaders and 8 Bonner Scholars, are recruited for a class of 16 students from admitted Allegheny students. If you are a current student looking to join the Bonner Program, contact Sarah Young, Bonner Program Coordinator at syoung2@allegheny.edu for more information.
