Anthony worked with the City of Meadville’s Redevelopment Authority to develop a flood mitigation plan for the 5th Ward neighborhood, but through research and resource limitation, the project direction turned to a land-use study in order to benefit its residents based on their voiced needs and concerns. Anthony attended HOPE council meetings with community leaders and it became clear that food insecurity was one of the biggest issues to be addressed. After meeting with local food insecurity experts, social justice advocates and 5th Ward community members, a land use plan including recommendations, maps, planting suggestions and future programs has been started.

Outcome

Land use proposal developed based on community voice, faculty expertise and climate change response.
