Classical Studies Minor
As a Classical Studies student, you'll explore ancient Greek and Roman civilization, including components of Latin language study, history, and cultural studies. You'll gain familiarity with diverse aspects of the ancient world and learn how to formulate original arguments based on primary sources, both material and literary.

Your Four-Year Journey
Students often combine Classical Studies with a major in Art, English, History, or Philosophy.
First-year students interested in Classical Studies examine the historical world of the Greeks and Romans.
In the second year, students begin to investigate more distinctive aspects of ancient life, such as ancient Greek philosophy or mythology.
Ancient orality, literature, and writing are investigated in the third and fourth years.
Advanced studies in orality, literature, and writing are offered. These courses are integrated into the Senior Comp of your chosen major.
