Office of Career Services
Alumni can help link students with internship, job shadowing and employment
opportunities through the Office of Career Services.
Alleghenians can serve as...
- Career Resource Volunteers: They make themselves available
to answer student questions about their career fields via phone, e-mail
or mail. Questions are informational only.
- Internship Surveyors: These volunteers obtain names
of alumni and friends who are willing to sponsor students for summer
internships.
- Experiential Learning Term (E. L. Term) Internship sponsors: These
volunteers host student interns for a 3-week internship that takes place
from mid-May to early June. The internships are located in Boston, New
York City and Washington D. C. Housing is provided by Allegheny through
arrangements with regional colleges.
- Allegheny-Specific Internship sponsors: These alumni
hire Allegheny students for summer-long internships at their work
sites. In some cases, housing is provided by the College, such
as through the
new Allegheny in D.C. initiative. In other cases, students can
apply for college funding to help defray the cost of housing.
