Allegheny Basics
- Allegheny is a private, co-educational college

Transfer Courses and Requirements
- A minimum of a 2.0 GPA is required; a 3.0+ is preferred. If applicable, a GPA as computed by a two-year college, with or without an associate degree, will be accepted.
- The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer is 64.
- The minimum number of credits accepted in transfer is one semester.
- Only credits with a grade of C or better are transferable in acceptable courses.
- The Registrar's Office evaluates all transfer credits. After receipt of the final transcript and course descriptions, an applicant will learn which credits will be accepted in transfer. If requested, transcripts can be evaluated prior to submitting a formal application.
- An associate degree will be accepted depending on the major and/or evaluation of each course. A transfer student with an associate degree can expect to receive a baccalaureate degree in two years.
- Some credits earned by examination may be accepted, i.e. CLEP [general subject], pass-fail, armed services.
- It is preferred that a transfer student have the same high school classes required of entering freshmen. These may be satisfied by college courses and possibly accepted towards a baccalaureate degree.
- Technical courses will not be transferred for credit.
How To Apply
- Applications for Fall semester should be submitted by July 1
- Applications for Spring semester should be submitted by November 1

- Application for Admission
Complete the five-page application and mail or fax to the Office of Admissions: Allegheny College, 520 N. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335. You may also apply online at www.commonapp.org.
- Application Supplement
Complete this informational sheet and return it with your application.
- College Transcript
Have an official transcript of all college-level coursework mailed or faxed to the Office of Admissions. A transcript that is stamped “Issued to the Student” is not considered official. If a transcript will not be available by the application deadline, have your instructor complete the Midterm Report.
- Course Descriptions
Descriptions or the catalogue from each college attended is requested.
- High School Transcript
Request that your secondary school submit an official final transcript.
- College Instructor Evaluation
Fill in the top portion of the Instructor Evaluation form. Have an instructor complete the form and mail or fax it to the Office of Admissions.
- College Official’s Report
Fill in the top portion of the form and then give it to your provost, dean of students, or appropriate college official to complete and return to the Office of Admissions.
- SAT/ACT Scores
These can be sent in directly from the College Board or included on your official high school transcript.
Financial Aid
- Merit-based scholarships up to $20,000 are available.
