Allegheny College Top 10% Admission Program

Ranked among the top colleges in the nation, Allegheny is committed to inspiring even more of the area’s best and brightest students to take advantage of its first-rate education. Students graduating in the top 10% of their class from high schools in western Pennsylvania will be automatically offered admission to Allegheny upon completion of the application for admission. As further recognition of their high academic achievement, students admitted through the program will qualify for our highest and most prestigious Trustee Scholarship, awarded at the level of $38,000 per year.

Scholarship Amount: $152,000, distributed equally over four years of study at Allegheny (i.e. up to $38,000 per year).

Renewal: Scholarships for students in the Top 10% Admission Program renew automatically for up to four years of full-time enrollment at Allegheny or in an Allegheny-sponsored off-campus study program. No minimum GPA is required to renew the scholarship.

Eligibility and Selection: Students must fall in the top 10% of their graduating high school class, attend a high school in Western PA (defined by zip codes in the range 15001 to 16749), submit a completed application for admission and supporting credentials by December 1, and be in good standing within their school community (based upon review of application disciplinary question*). If schools do not rank, GPA distribution charts can be used, if provided. Similarly, for schools that do not rank, we will accept information directly from a school administrator.

To Apply: Consideration for the Top 10% Admission Program is automatic when students apply for admission under Early Decision I or II, Early Action  and Regular Decision methods before December 1. Award recipients will be notified via mail regarding their eligibility. Students must be registered as full-time, degree-seeking students to qualify for this scholarship.
