Dear Parents:

I am glad for this opportunity to welcome both new and returning families for the 2009–2010 academic year at Allegheny College and to share this copy of the Parent Handbook. I know that you will find it a helpful reference to the services we offer our students, as well as the expectations we have of them as members of our community. Please be assured that our students have the support of a dedicated, caring faculty and staff who are committed to helping them succeed.

I look forward to learning with and from the students of Allegheny College. It is a special part of Allegheny's magic that faculty, staff, administration, and students truly know each other and collaborate in teaching and learning.

I hope you will introduce yourself when you see me at matriculation or at our annual Family Weekend and that you will feel free to contact the offices listed in this handbook if you have questions during the school year.
